Veterans for America First Endorses Lt. Governor Jay Collins for Governor of Florida
MIAMI, FL — Veterans for America First (VFAF) proudly announces its endorsement of Jay Collins for Governor of Florida in the 2026 election cycle.
Founded in 2015 as the first national grassroots coalition of veterans to support Donald Trump before he descended the escalator to announce his historic presidential campaign, VFAF has become one of the nation’s leading America First veterans organizations dedicated to defending liberty, national sovereignty, border security, and constitutional freedoms.
This endorsement marks the first time VFAF has endorsed a candidate opposing a Trump-endorsed candidate, underscoring the organization’s belief that Florida’s future requires tested combat leadership, unwavering constitutional principles, and a proven record of standing against communist influence and government overreach.
“Veterans for America First proudly stands behind Lt. Governor Jay Collins because he represents the warrior spirit, constitutional resolve, and fearless leadership that built the Free State of Florida,” said Robert Cornicelli. “Jay Collins has already proven himself on the battlefield, in public office, and in life itself. After losing his leg in service to this nation, he requalified in the military instead of retreating from the fight. That tells you everything you need to know about his character. Florida does not need weakness, political theater, or compromise with radical ideologies. Florida needs a battle-tested patriot who understands that freedom is never guaranteed — it must be defended.”
Cornicelli continued:
“VFAF was the first grassroots veterans organization to stand with President Trump before the political establishment understood what the America First movement would become. Today, we are once again standing on principle. Jay Collins has demonstrated unwavering commitment to protecting Floridians from government overreach, defending our borders, supporting law enforcement, and confronting communist influence wherever it exists — whether abroad or attempting to infiltrate American institutions here at home.”
Christi Tasker also praised Collins’ leadership and resilience.
“Lt. Governor Jay Collins understands leadership, sacrifice, and courage at a level most politicians never will,” said Tasker. “He stands stronger on one leg than most Americans do on two. Jay Collins lost a leg serving this nation, yet he refused to let that define or stop him. He requalified, returned to service, and continued fighting for America. That same determination is exactly why Floridians can trust him to protect the freedoms that make Florida the Free State of Florida.”
Tasker added:
“Florida is not just another state — it is America’s front line. With miles of southern coastline exposed to hostile regimes including communist Cuba and increasing instability throughout the region, Florida requires leadership that understands both national security and the real-world consequences of failed ideology. Jay Collins has consistently stood against communist influence and has backed policies designed to keep Florida free from authoritarian ideologies that threaten liberty, faith, free enterprise, and constitutional rights.”
During his service in the Florida Senate, Collins supported legislation aimed at restricting hostile foreign influence, increasing protections against adversarial foreign governments, and strengthening Florida’s defenses against communist-aligned entities operating within the United States. Supporters say his record demonstrates a clear understanding that freedom requires vigilance both militarily and politically.
VFAF stated that Collins’ military background, conservative legislative record, and commitment to preserving individual liberty made him the clear choice for the organization’s endorsement.
