Ken Paxton’s Houston visit in early August brought together a powerful cross-section of Texas conservatives, candidates, legislative staff and grassroots leaders from across the Houston region and all the way down to Galveston.
VFAF National Vet Force Director Kimberly Taiko Moyers used the opportunity to meet directly with candidates, legislative staffers and Republican community leaders while keeping Veterans issues at the center of the conversation.
Moyers met with Briscoe Cain, Steve Toth and Alex Hale, all VFAF-endorsed candidates, Congressional candidate John Bonck, Christian Collins, state legislative staffers, and Republican leaders representing communities throughout the greater Houston area and down toward Galveston.

he meetings went beyond handshakes and photographs. Discussions focused on issues affecting the men and women who served this country, including Veterans healthcare, real healthcare choice, service dogs, VA accountability, and legislation that puts Veterans ahead of bureaucracy.
For VFAF, that is what advocacy is supposed to look like.
Veterans deserve a seat at the table when legislation is being written, candidates are establishing priorities, and elected leaders are deciding which issues they are willing to fight for.
For Moyers, a Navy Veteran, that mission is deeply personal.
The oath to defend the Constitution does not end when the uniform comes off.
That is why Vet Force continues showing up, building relationships and carrying Veterans concerns directly to lawmakers, candidates and their staffs.
Veterans are not a campaign prop or a talking point. They are a powerful constituency, and Vet Force intends to make sure their voices are heard.
