Rep. Matt Morgan Spends Evening Hearing Directly from Veterans at Richmond Event

RICHMOND, TEXAS — October 6, 2026 — Texas State Representative Matt Morgan spent part of his Keys & Cocktails Dueling Piano Fundraiser on October 2 at Safari Texas Ranch speaking directly with veterans and members of Veterans for America First Texas about the issues affecting those who served, their families, and communities across the Lone Star State.

The evening brought together Republican leaders, candidates, grassroots activists, veterans, and supporters from across Texas. For Veterans for America First, it was a meaningful opportunity to sit down with elected leaders, share the concerns of veterans, and ensure those voices were heard directly.

Representative Morgan took time during the evening to engage with members of the VFAF team and listen to veterans speak about the challenges facing military families, the importance of strong representation, government accountability, and continued involvement in the legislative process.

Veterans for America First representatives attending included Kimberly Taiko Moyers, National Vet Force Director; Adam Schoof, Executive Legislative Director; Alyssa Schoof, Blue Star Division Director; Justin Schiro, Media Relations Officer; and Chris Heasley, host of The Chris Heasley Show.

Veterans for America First is grateful for opportunities like this, where veterans can speak face to face with those serving in government. The men and women who wore the uniform bring a perspective shaped by service, sacrifice, duty, and love of country, and those experiences deserve to be part of the conversation.

Mayes Middleton, the Republican nominee for Texas Attorney General, was also in attendance and delivered remarks encouraging Texans to remain engaged and active heading into the November election.

Texas State Representative Shelley Luther also attended and addressed those gathered. Luther became nationally known during the COVID 19 pandemic after she was jailed for refusing to close her Dallas area salon under government shutdown orders and later became a prominent voice in discussions surrounding individual liberty and government authority.

The strong turnout reflected the continued energy of Texas grassroots politics and provided another opportunity for veterans, community leaders, and elected officials to come together in conversation.

Veterans for America First Texas sincerely appreciates Representative Morgan taking the time during his event to listen directly to veterans and hear their concerns.

“We are grateful anytime an elected official takes the time to sit down, listen, and hear directly from the veterans and families they represent. Representative Morgan gave our veterans that opportunity, and we appreciate the conversation, the respect, and the time he shared with our team. Veterans for America First will continue working to ensure the voices of those who served are part of the conversations shaping the future of Texas.”
